What you’ll fish for
Spring Lake holds bass, northern pike, walleye, perch, bluegill, and crappie. Hard-water days, when ice is in, are usually a panfish and pike story; walleye show when conditions line up. The Grand River system — a short drive — is the winter steelhead and walleye run if the lake itself isn’t locked up.
Bring your own shack, auger, and electronics. The dock is for staging, not a promise that you can walk off the end.

Inland lakes around here often pick up ice in January and can hold into March — that’s a pattern, not a booking guarantee. Spring Lake is not a still kettle pond.
