Bike the Lakeside Trail from The Dock at Minetta
The path serves this side of Spring Lake. Pomona Park is the nearby trail node with restrooms, fishing, and winter sledding. Fruitport Village is a few blocks. Dune hikes are a short drive toward Lake Michigan.

Trail access, restrooms, fishing, and a winter sledding hill. Also a nearby public launch option besides the 0.6-mile Petty’s Bayou / N Fruitport Road launch.
P.J. Hoffmaster State Park
Dune forest and a Lake Michigan beach south of Muskegon. Trails with stairs. About 15–20 minutes.
North Ottawa Dunes
Ottawa County park system dunes north of Grand Haven. Sand, woods, and lake overlooks without the State Park parking crush on a random Tuesday.
Kitchel-Lindquist Dunes
A quieter dune preserve near Ferrysburg / Grand Haven. Stay on marked trails; the blowouts are the point.
Rosy Mound Natural Area
Stairs, dunes, and a Lake Michigan beach south of Grand Haven. Worth a morning if the group splits between bikes and sand.
Winter on the same trails
Pomona Park sleds. Pigeon Creek Park in West Olive is the XC and snowshoe hill with lights. The house is the warm end of the day — not a trailhead lodge with rentals.
